ATLANTA, GA – August 9, 2025 – INTENNSE™ Tennis will unveil the Bata Trophy this Sunday afternoon when the champion is crowned. With all teams still in contention, the title race remains wide open. Multiple scenarios could propel any squad to the top spot. 

Week Six Storylines:

  • Saturday, 2 PM:
    The Challenge Team has lost five in a row and has brought in former junior US Open champion Samantha Crawford to lead the charge against Jacksonville, which is winless in women’s singles this season. Which team will break its losing streak?
  • Saturday, 7 PM:
    Tampa has won two straight, but will be missing Vicky Flores from the lineup. They will face Atlanta, which is in full control of the title race. Can Tampa’s resurgence keep the trophy out of Atlanta’s hands for one more night
  • Sunday, 2 PM:
    Tampa’s women have been perfect all season, while Jacksonville’s women remain winless. Fortunately for Jacksonville, MVP candidate Sam Nicholson is on their side. Can he deliver one final memorable performance to clinch the title?

Team Atlanta
Big roster changes this weekend with the loss of Michaela Gordon. Week Two and Week Three  Challenge Team members Dalayna Hewitt and Adriana Reami will have big shoes to fill, both on the court and on the sidelines. Raul Garcia returns, replacing Ed Tymes. Atlanta went 1-1 last weekend, with a 200-175 win over Jacksonville on Saturday followed by a 223-188 loss to Tampa.

Week Six Rosters
Head Coach: Marcelo Ferreira
Currently serving as the High-Performance Tennis Manager at Windy Hill, Ferreira has spent over 15 years shaping champions at both the collegiate and professional levels. He has coached at prestigious programs such as Pepperdine University, Texas Tech University, and Georgia College & State University, earning recognition as a two-time ITA Assistant Coach of the Year. His players have excelled under his guidance, achieving All-America honors, winning NCAA® championships, and transitioning to successful professional careers.

Trent Bryde
A former University of Georgia tennis standout, he was a three-time ITA All-American and a dominant player for the Bulldogs. He reached a career-high ATP ranking of No. 625 in singles and was a top-10 junior player, competing in ATP Challenger™ and Grand Slam® events.

Raul Garcia
Missed Week Five. Originally from Bolivia, Garcia has been a standout collegiate tennis player known for his consistency and dominance in singles. A former No. 1 junior in Bolivia, Raul brought international experience into college, including a career-high ATP® singles ranking of No. 1248 and multiple ITF Junior titles. At the collegiate level, he consistently competed at the top of the lineup, closing his senior year (2023–24) with a 15-4 singles record and a nine-match win streak. Over his career, he earned ASUN® All-Freshman Team, Second Team All-Conference, and ASUN® Player of the Week honors. Raul also excelled in doubles, most notably partnering with Harvey Conway across multiple seasons with strong results.

Kevin King
Grew up in Peachtree City, Georgia, and started playing tennis at just four years old. He went on to play collegiate tennis at Georgia Tech, earning a degree in mechanical engineering before turning pro. On the ATP Tour®, he reached career-high rankings of No. 164 in singles and No. 114 in doubles.

Tanya Sasnouskaya
One of the top-ranked NCAA® Division I tennis players, consistently competing at the highest level in both singles and doubles. She earned ITA All-America honors, reached national championship finals, and held a No. 1 national ranking in doubles while representing both Old Dominion University and the University of Texas at Austin.

Adriana Reami
A professional tennis player known for her grit, power, and relentless determination on court. A former standout at NC State and now a full-time competitor on the pro tour, Adriana continues to climb the ranks with a fearless playing style and deep love for the game. Off the court, Adriana embraces two very different extremes when it comes to hobbies—she loves playing other sports just for fun, and also enjoys getting lost in a good book. Adriana shares more than just a name with her mother—they were both professional tennis players, proving that passion and performance truly run in the family. Looking ahead, Adriana hopes to bring her competitive experience into a new arena: sports psychology. After her playing career, she plans to help the next generation of athletes master the mental side of the sport.

Dalayna Hewitt
From Cleveland, OH. Didn’t like tennis at first, was more of a basketball girl. Trains with Robin Anderson with Coach Carlos Cobos here in Atlanta. They travel and play doubles together. Her search for financial stability during covid landed her at the Amazon warehouse where she was employed for nearly two years and was forced to stop training. She says the professional circuit can be lonely, with her family unable to take time off from work to travel, but also expensive. Played in the junior grand slams; traveled all over the world for tennis.

Team Tampa
Kate Sharabura returns to the lineup replacing Quinn Gleason who filled in last week. Tampa notched wins against the Challenge Team 193-220 and Atlanta 223-188 last weekend.

Week Six Rosters
Head Coach: Yelena Labat
Started playing tennis at age 4 and quickly developed a strong passion for the sport thanks to her father. After competing at a high level in France as one of the nation's top U18 players, she moved to the United States to play collegiate tennis at Columbus State University (NCAA® Division II), where she spent four years on the women's team.

During her collegiate career, her team became Southeast Regional Champions every year from 2021 to 2024 and qualified for the NCAA® Nationals all four years, reaching the semifinals twice. She was also honored as an ITA All-America doubles player. Today, she remains connected to the sport as a dedicated tennis coach at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy.

Trey Mallory
Started playing tennis at age 10 and quickly rose to become Bermuda's top junior player. He trained at LAT and SVB Tennis Academies in Florida before earning an NCAA® Division I scholarship to UNC Wilmington, where he helped secure four CAA® Conference Championships. In 2024, he earned his first ATP® point in Santo Domingo and has proudly represented Bermuda in Davis Cup™ since age 16. Now, he's continuing to chase new heights.

Sam Frizelle
A standout from Lutz, Florida, Sam emerged as a key player for the Florida Southern Mocs. In the 2025 season, he boasts an impressive 11-7 singles record at the No. 1 court. Frizelle's consistent excellence earned him the Sunshine State Conference® Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week honor on April 14, 2025.

Noori Adam
Earned All-MEAC honors at Florida A&M and began his tennis journey at the New Mexico Military Institute. Originally from Sudan, Adam achieved his first ATP® points at just 16 years old, showcasing his early potential.

Seone Mendez
An Australian standout with Argentine roots, she has made her mark on the professional tennis circuit. Reaching career-high WTA rankings of No. 198 in singles and No. 304 in doubles, Mendez has captured 13 ITF singles titles and 5 ITF doubles titles, showcasing her versatility and consistency across both disciplines. Known for her competitive spirit and international flair,

Kate Sharabura
A standout collegiate tennis player known for her dominance in doubles and consistency in singles for Georgia Tech. A three-time NCAA® Doubles Championship qualifier, she earned ITA All-America honors in 2022 and was ranked as high as No. 4 nationally in doubles. She has received multiple All-ACC honors, including Second Team recognition in 2024 and Third Team in 2022. In the 2024 season, Sharabura led her team in singles wins (22-8) and was instrumental in doubles with partner Carol Lee, reaching a season-high ITA doubles ranking of No. 11.

Sharabura is equally accomplished academically, being named to the All-ACC Academic Team and CSC Academic All-District® each year from 2022 to 2025, along with multiple ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.

Khrystyna Vozniak
A Ukrainian player and former standout in U.S. collegiate tennis. She competed for Stony Brook University and Mississippi State University, achieving a Top 16 national doubles ranking and reaching the NCAA® Doubles Round of 16.

Since turning professional, she has won an ITF World Tennis Tour doubles title and reached career-high WTA® rankings of No. 1288 in singles and No. 1151 in doubles. Khrystyna served as a graduate assistant at the University of Tulsa, where she earned her MBA. Following her studies, she spent two years at a Tulsa law firm leading its marketing efforts. She now resides in Rochester, New York

Team Jacksonville
Alejandra Cruz will be absent from the lineup with Jackeline Lopez making her coming back after playing for the team earlier in the season. The team lost to Atlanta 175-200 last week.

Week Six Rosters
Head Coach: Claudio Pistolesi
A tennis icon with deep roots in the sport as both a player and coach, Pistolesi was born in Italy and rose to become a two-time Grand Slam® junior semifinalist and Orange Bowl® champion, earning the title of World No. 1 ITF Junior Champion. During his professional career, he achieved a career-high ATP® singles ranking of No. 71, earned victories over Top 10 players, and proudly represented Italy in Davis Cup™ for six consecutive years, winning the Italian national championship in 1990.

As a coach, Pistolesi has worked with some of the sport's top names—including Monica Seles, Robin Söderling, and Daniela Hantuchová—guiding multiple players to Top 50 and Top 100 rankings while coaching them to over 10 tour titles. His leadership extends beyond coaching, having served as captain for Italy at the Mediterranean Games, for both Italy and Japan at the Hopman Cup™, and as an Olympic coach for Team Slovakia in 2012.
 

Sam Nicholson
Nicholson continued his dominant performance in Week Five.

A two-time First Team All-Big South® singles selection, Sam Nicholson has been a consistent presence at the top of his team's lineup since his freshman year. In 2023-24, he tallied 14 singles wins—11 at the No. 2 position—and went undefeated in conference doubles play with partner Freddy Murray, earning Second Team All-Conference honors in doubles. As a freshman, Nicholson led the team in singles wins (14), competing across all top three lines and recording four conference victories.

Maxwell Benson
A two-time Big South® Champion and the 2021 Player of the Year from Presbyterian College. On the pro circuit, he's captured two ITF World Tennis Tour M25 doubles titles, showcasing his all-around abilities and competitive edge. Off the court, Max enjoys staying active, especially on the basketball court.

Martin Gutierrez
Born in Colombia, Martín later moved to Jacksonville, Florida, with his family, where he grew up and learned to play tennis. He built a stellar collegiate career at Barry University, winning four NCAA® championship titles and earning three ITA All-America honors. Martín has also created a thriving community of 20,000+ tennis enthusiasts through his Instagram account @TheForehandGuy, with the mission of helping players develop confident forehands. A fierce competitor (which becomes immediately apparent when you watch him play!), Martín is passionate about spending time with friends, working out, and grilling.

Annabelle Thomas
Originally from the UK, Annabelle attended Millfield School on a multi-sport scholarship and climbed to No. 18 in the U18 British tennis rankings by 2020. She went on to play NCAA® Division I tennis at the University of North Florida, where she won two ASUN® titles, earned Freshman of the Year honors, and helped clinch the program's first-ever NCAA® Tournament win.

Now at Clemson University, she serves as co-captain of the women's tennis team while pursuing a master's in applied psychology. Her research explores barriers to mindfulness in sport, and she's certified as both a Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement (MSPE®) instructor and a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach.

Sofia Johnson
Sofia is a British-Hungarian player who was born and raised in England and started playing tennis at age 6. She’s graduating from Old Dominion University, where she reached a college career-high singles ranking of #6 in the nation.


Jackeline Lopez
Jackeline played Division I tennis at Rutgers University in the BIG 10 Conference, competing across all singles and doubles lines throughout her four-year career. She started playing tennis at age 9 and spent time training internationally, including six months at the David Ferrer Academy in Spain and a preseason in Argentina—experiences that shaped her competitive edge and global approach to the game.


Challenge Exhibition Match:

Team Jacksonville took on the Challenge Team in Week Three and won 169-217.

Week Six - Challenge Team:

Coach: Samantha Crawford
Samantha Crawford is a former professional tennis player and current high-performance tennis coach known for bringing elite-level experience, technical insight, and a strong developmental focus to her players. A former Junior US Open Champion (2012 Girls' Singles), Samantha reached a career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 98 and competed in all four Grand Slam tournaments during her pro career.

As a player, Samantha was renowned for her powerful serve and aggressive baseline play. She achieved her WTA breakthrough in 2016, reaching the semifinals in Brisbane and earning wins over top-30 players. Her success on tour, combined with her junior Grand Slam pedigree, gives her a unique understanding of the mental and physical demands of transitioning from juniors to the pros.

Jose Galvez
Jose Galvez was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and proudly carries his family roots from Monterrey, Mexico. A high-performance junior standout, Galvez climbed as high as the Top 35 in national recruiting rankings before taking his talents to Kennesaw State University, where he competed for two seasons. His collegiate career was cut short during the COVID-19 pandemic, but his passion for the sport remains a defining part of his journey.

Off the court, Galvez is a self-proclaimed food enthusiast who loves reviewing restaurants and discovering new spots. He’s especially fond of The Chastain in Atlanta and the Marietta Burger Bar. An avid traveler, his favorite city to visit is Chicago, but home is where his heart is, especially with his loyal 18-year-old dog by his side.

Jo-Yee Chan
Jo‑Yee Chan is a promising collegiate and junior tennis talent originally from Sugar Hill, Georgia, near Atlanta. Now representing San Diego State University (SDSU) as a junior, Jo‑Yee earned All‑Mountain West Singles honors in 2025 and was recognized as an ITA Scholar‑Athlete as well as Academic All‑Mountain West. 

Before transferring to SDSU, Jo‑Yee competed for two seasons at the University of Oregon, posting solid results—including a 14–11 singles record in her sophomore year and a 15–6 mark as a freshman, along with strong doubles performances.

On the professional circuit, she has made appearances in ITF Women’s World Tennis Tour events, reaching as deep as the semifinals in a W15 San Diego tournament in 2025. As of mid‑2025, her WTA ranking stood around No. 1180, with a season-high of No. 1170.

Naresh Bharathy
Naresh Bharathy is a standout student-athlete for North Carolina Central University’s men’s tennis team, combining strong on-court performances with academic excellence. A two-time MEAC All-Academic Team selection, Bharathy posted a 13-7 singles record in 2024-25, going a perfect 5-0 in conference play with key wins over Norfolk State, South Carolina State, Morgan State, Coppin State, and Howard. In 2023-24, he earned the Eagle Excellence Award from NCCU Athletics and recorded a 12-10 singles mark, highlighted by non-conference victories over Hampton, Queens, UNC Greensboro, Davidson, Shaw, and Johnson C. Smith. As a freshman in 2022-23, he was named to the MEAC All-Tournament Team at No.4 singles, earned MEAC Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week honors, and was recognized as an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

Before college, Bharathy starred at Green Hope High School, helping his team win the 2018 state championship and finish as 2020 state finalists. He was a two-time conference and regional champion, playing No.1 singles and doubles. Born in Ambasamudram, India, he's a left-handed player who is ambidextrous, he enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends. He is majoring in biomedical sciences at NCCU.

Danijal Muminovic
Danijal played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team in both juniors and seniors. He then went on to play tennis for Georgia State, where they won the Sun Belt Championship®, and he individually earned All-Sun Belt Singles Second-Team honors twice. He later transferred to UTSA, where he was a multiple-time American Athletic Conference Player of the Week and a three-time ITA Scholar Athlete. He has been a member of the UTSA President’s Student Advisory Council (PSAC) from January 2024 to May 2025 and a member of the UTSA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) from 2022-2025, serving as Secretary from 2024-2025.

Addy Rogin
Native of Moreland, Georgia, Addy is the Girls’ 16 Easter Bowl and Clay Courts Doubles Champion, ranked in the Top 26 nationally in the 16-and-under division. A dynamic doubles player with a strong all-court game, she is one of the rising talents in U.S. junior tennis.

Swerve TV will debut its coverage with Week Six, streaming matches live on August 9–10, followed by replays and additional recorded content throughout the off-season.

Swerve broadcast begins at 2 PM ET on Saturday when Jacksonville takes on the Challenge Team, followed by Team Atlanta taking on Team Tampa at 7 PM and Sunday at 2 PM ET when Team Jacksonville faces off against Team Tampa. 

The Championship trophy will be presented following Sunday’s Dual.
