INTENNSE has been invited to take part in this weekend’s inaugural Atlanta Cup, bringing its fast-paced, action-packed format to the court beginning at 6 p.m. at Gas South Arena. The liberated, fan-first experience will set the tone for the evening.
The Atlanta Cup brings together marquee tennis pros and big personalities in a high-energy, one-night-only format featuring global superstars, Naomi Osaka, Aryna Sabalenka, Nick Kyrgios, and Ben Shelton.
The INTENNSE league will be represented by two teams of six players each, competing in three modified seven-minute bolts consisting of men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
The Red Team will be captained by Aryna Sabalenka and Ben Shelton, and coached by 2025 Team Atlanta Champion Head Coach Marcelo Ferreira. The roster includes:
The Blue Team will be anchored by Naomi Osaka and Nick Kyrgios, and coached by 2025 Team Jacksonville Head Coach Claudio Pistolesi. The lineup features:
- Blu Baker
- Trent Bryde
- Ale Cruz
- Quinn Gleason
- Sam Nicholson
- Tanya Sasnouskaya
The league introduces both casual fans and dedicated tennis followers to a concept first showcased in their own backyard—positioning Atlanta not just as a host city, but as the launchpad of a new pathway for professional tennis.
The Atlanta Cup fills the void left by the departure of the Atlanta Open, which had long provided local fans with top-tier tennis. INTENNSE’s participation underscores that even without a traditional tour event, professional tennis can thrive through new leagues, innovative formats, and collaborations that keep elite competition in front of fans year-round.
For INTENNSE players, the exhibition provides a rare opportunity to perform in front of a near-capacity arena crowd and an audience drawn by four global headliners. This positioning reinforces the league’s mission—to create professional opportunities for players while delivering a “funomenal”, fan focused product.
