ALTITUDE earned one of their biggest wins of the season, holding off a late SMASH comeback to secure just their second victory of the year. They came out with great energy from the opening point and immediately put SMASH on the back foot. Malkia Ngounoue led the charge early, playing outstanding tennis and helping ALTITUDE build an early advantage. From the start, ALTITUDE looked confident and aggressive, while SMASH struggled to find their rhythm.
Elmar Ejupovic stepped up for SMASH and delivered a strong performance, but he was playing with the pressure of the scoreboard against him all night. Despite his efforts, ALTITUDE continued to compete hard and refused to let SMASH gain full control. As the arc progressed, SMASH slowly chipped away at the deficit, making every point matter and turning the match into a tense battle.
With the lead shrinking, it was fair to wonder if ALTITUDE's struggles from earlier in the season would resurface. They had let opportunities slip away in previous matches, and the pressure continued to mount as SMASH closed the gap. This time, however, ALTITUDE responded differently. They stayed composed, continued to fight for every point, and refused to let the moment get too big.
The match remained in the balance until the final minute, with neither team giving an inch. ALTITUDE held their nerve when it mattered most, making the clutch plays needed to close out the victory. It was a complete team effort and a performance that showcased the resilience they have been searching for all season. While SMASH will be disappointed after clawing their way back into the contest, ALTITUDE can celebrate a well-earned win that could provide a huge confidence boost heading into the final stretch of the season.
ALTITUDE Head Coach Marcelo Ferreira: “It feels amazing. Even after such a tough season it is amazing what a win can do for your spirits. Super proud, super happy, and now I got some money in the pocket.”
